I grew up learning to bake from both of my grandmothers in Louisiana. Southern food has tradition and soul in it, and that's what I bring to Chicago in my baking.
My love for baking began at a young age, although growing up I made a lot more messes than masterpieces in the kitchen. Since then, I knew that my passion for sweets and baking would always be a part of my life. After studying Nutrition in graduate school, I realized I wanted to help others learn about the importance of the quality of the food that they put into their body. Who said sweets have to be full of junk?
It wasn't until I moved to Chicago in the summer of 2012 with my husband Emerich that I started a baking business out of my kitchen and have since moved into a commercial kitchen. That next summer life got a little bit sweeter when we welcomed our son Mark and in the summer of 2015 we welcomed another precious boy, Rowe.
Cooking and baking are important traditions in my family. I hope that my sweets can be a part of your family traditions from birthday celebrations and weddings to baby showers and smash cakes. It is truly an honor and something I value to be a part of your celebration. As all of my friends say, I've been spreading love around Chicago through my cakes since 2012. From my kitchen to yours, let's create something memorable.
